Happy "birth"day to our little sweet pea! This morning I somehow managed to get Addyson & I showered/ bathed and all of us dressed and out the door with extra time to spare. THAT NEVER HAPPENS! Wait, maybe I should back up and start with our night last night. I fed A around 9:15, swaddled her and bounced her for a bit then she was down for the night a little after 10:00. I think I went to sleep at 10:30. At 4 am, yes...you read that correctly...I was beginning to wonder if I had fed her already and/or in my sleep. Nope. She had not eaten yet and she was beginning to stir. By 4:30, I physically, if you know what I mean...had to feed her. She ate, laid back down and grunted/groaned/moved around until she finally passed some gas and then was out like a light. I slept until Rhett came to kiss me goodbye and only then did I wonder what time it was. Needless to say, we all slept until 8am. (GO REESE!) He's doing alot better in that department and it really could not have happened at a better time. I'm so glad he's no longer calling our names at 6:30 to come get him out of his bed. When I have to do an early morning feeding at 5 or 6 I don't have to worry about just staying up cause now he just sleeps a little longer...now that I think about it, it maybe because the sun comes up later.
At 11:00 we went for Addyson's 2 month check up (and we snuck in a flu shot for the Reese man). Good thinking because then we only had to pay ONE co-pay and those co-pays can get expensive! She is now in the 75th percentile weighing 10 lbs. 10 oz and her height is 22 1/2 in. Way to go little girl!! Dr. Bubba looked her over and said she just looks perfect...which he just had to confirm, we already knew that ;) Then it was time for the shots! She got 5, yes FIVE shots and then an oral vaccine for the Rotavirus. On the way to the dr I had to keep telling myself that these shots will benefit her and keep her from being a very sick little girl! That didn't matter when the first shot went in her little leg, tears started coming to my eyes. Sweet Reese kept trying to talk to me while I was holding him but all I could do was sit and watch her stick my poor, innocent little girl in the legs. She screamed like I had never heard before in her life. Then the crying quickly subsided with a little TLC from Daddy & Mommy. She's a trouper!
Here are a few little favorite things you like to do these days...
* Eat every 3-4 hours during the day and cat nap in between
* Sleep at night
* Eat 1-2 times at night, get your diaper changed, then go right back/ stay asleep
* You like looking at the fan and the mobile on your swing
* Smiles ALOT and more frequently now. Wait, let me rephrase that...you don't just smile. You grin and then move your head and almost laughs silently EVERYTIME anyone makes you smile. I LOVE IT!
* When Reese gets in your face to talk to you, you look at him and gives him a smile.
* Look out...you no longer like to be up on a shoulder...you like to look out at the world & check out all that is going on around you
* You do a great job at holding your head up so strong!
* You are beginning to take to your passy, especially if you are hungry or sleepy
* Bath time is fun & quick! You are so sweet laying there just looking around while you soak in the warm water and we bathe you
There's not much you don't like to do. I can say that you don't really care for the toys on your playmat that you lay on to look up at. Oh and during the day you don't care to sleep in your bassinet or your bed. You like to be in the room or near Mommy while you sleep...therefore, you do alot of your daytime sleeping in the swing, carseat or on the couch with Mommy.
You are the sweetest little girl I know, Addyson! Daddy, Reese & I love you very much!!! What a wonderful addition you have been to our little family!
