Yup, it's another blog about the baby and an update that we got today when we went back to the dr. Oh, did I say went back? Yes, you heard me correctly. I woke up and all day I had some achy, crampy pains way low. It began to concern me so I called the nurse and she wanted me to come in. Oh, keep in mind she did ask me if the baby was moving. I told her yes, but not as MUCH as usual. This baby is SOOO active...it moves almost all the time. I sometimes wonder if it ever sleeps. My main concern was the pain, not the movement of my child who was moving...just not ALL over the place.
So I got in the office and was weighed. Well, I took a sneak peak at my chart and I noticed that my weight has stayed the same for the past 4 visits...that means the past 4 weeks! I was sooooo happy to see that! I feel AND look like I have gained at least 5 lbs every week. No kidding, I get it all the time..."You look like you're about to pop!", "Are you due this week?", "You still have 5 and a half weeks to go!?" It does begin to wear on me. I am gaining the same amount as I did with Reese but I guess just carrying it differently or something, I dunno. Yes, I am uncomfortable. Yes, my belly button feels like it's going to burst, it hurts SO bad. And yes, I feel like I could have this baby at any moment it is soooo low.
So back to my dr's visit...I'll get off my soapbox for now. :)
I was checked by a dr, not my usual dr. I am 1 cm dialated. And I found out that the pain I was having was due to the pelvic bones moving and shifting for labor. He had me go do a biophysical profile (it's where they look at a ton of different things like it practicing it's breathing, the heart, lungs, organs, etc) We got an 8 out of 8 which is good, means the baby isn't in distress or anything. I didn't think it was. Anyways, she turned on the 4D and we got to see baby's face and got LOTS of pictures! I'll post a few that we got. We saw him/her breathing, opening their eyes, mouth and sticking out its tongue. This baby sure likes things near it's face...Tuesday it had the cord, placenta and it's hand all right in it's face. Before I left the dr told me that if I go into labor after next week they will not stop it and will let nature take it's course. Does that make me nervous? Of course it does. The baby was estimated at 4 lbs 11 oz today so that makes me feel a little better. S/he has gained 9 oz in the last 2 weeks so I know s/he will continue to gain weight...it's the lungs I'm worried about. Little white boys (if it is one) are the last to have their lungs develop fully. That's one thing we worried about with Reese since he was born early.
Here are the pictures from today. I think I've had more ultrasounds than I could possibly ever need. Cigna's going to love me!
**PS- WE SAW HAIR ON HIS/HER HEAD TODAY!!!! EXCITING NEWS!!!
