So over the past year or so a dear, sweet friend of mine from
high middle school (ohhh about 17 years ago) and I have been keeping in touch. I want to thank you Christian for texting me one day out of the blue to tell me congrats on being pregnant AND that you were pregnant, due a few weeks behind me. At that moment I wished you lived here and we could see each other as our bellies grew and as our babies were born and grew up. (I was thrilled to hear from you and was so excited to get to share this journey of talking about our babies as they grew.) We later learned that she was having a boy and I still didn't know what I was having (but thought
it she was going to be a boy). So the pregnancies go by and we both have our babies (2 weeks apart) so many, many text messages were sent back and forth about all of the new, happy, tiring, confusing, exciting, frustrating, and fun times we were having in our lives...all the while across many states. It has been so fun reconnecting with her and getting to watch little V grow up in Atl. (what would we do without technology!?!)
Last weekend we were finally able to get together, after probably 8 or 9 years of not seeing each other and hardly talking. (I like to think of our new rekindled friendship as "pen pals") Do you remember having those as a kid? You'd be so excited to write a letter and would check the mailbox on a daily basis to see if they had written you back. It's fun getting random text/ picture messages about her day and responding about what we are doing over here in the M town...it's like a little window into the outside world when I'm here at home with my kiddos. Thank you C for keeping in touch, coming to visit us, and sending us pics of V & sweet cards & packages in the mail...we love him dearly and hope to see ya'll again sooner than later!! :)

So sweet! I was trying to decide who V looks more like, but he's a pretty good mixture of them both! Precious!
