Wow, am I really 31 weeks already!? Time sure does fly by with the second one! I do have to admit there are days to where I am seriously ready for this baby to be born because he/she is SO incredibly active!! Reese was always asleep or just laying around in the womb. He'd move when I poked or prodded at him and that was about it. Sure enough when he was born all he did was sleep, eat and be as happy as can be. He rarely cried. I just don't know what I'm going to do with an active baby who doesn't want to go to sleep or screams his/her head off when they are starving and I have a 2 year old at my feet following me around. I do know that God won't give me more than I can handle and I just have to constantly remind myself of that. It's going to be a wild adventure so we better buckle up and enjoy the ride while we are on it. :)
So...for our appointment today. I was scheduled to see my dr. I met with her for a few minutes and she decided after I asked several questions to have another ultrasound done to measure my cervix to see if there were any good/bad changes. This time we didn't get to see baby on the screen (of course the time that Rhett can come LOL!). We just got to see my cervix and the baby's head. I am still measuring 1.9, which is supposed to be at 3 or above. So no good change and no bad change. Just needing to take it easy and rest as much as possible. It's nice to be able to rest at home and get projects done while sitting on the couch and watching Reese play or watch movies. I am not on strict bed rest just yet, which I am SOOOO thankful for!
Next week I have an appointment on Tuesday and we will repeat the fetal fibronectin test and get more measurements of my cervix. This measuring thing will be an every week thing which I am glad about but then again it's not the most comfortable thing in the world...if you know what I mean. The fetal fibronectin test will let us know if the baby will be coming in the next few weeks. Dr. Tonkin is very sure of this test. What an amazing test!!! Now, I'm off to google more about the test and this "situation" I'm in. Just pray that the number doesn't keep going down and we can keep baby in for a good few more weeks. (long enough to get the nursery painted and furniture all in) hehe! :)
