WARNING...this post might gross some people out (the pictures).
Yesterday I took Reese to Toys R Us and I let him pick out a potty seat. (We have the kind you put on top of the toilet but he hated sitting on it...I guess he has the fear of falling in) Let me back up a minute. Yesterday morning we went for Reese's 2 year check up. He is in the 75th percentile for height and weight and he is now on the BMI scale (not quite sure what that means). Dr. Bubba said he looks great and to much of our surprise his 2 yr molars have barely poked through. I thought they had partially come in by now because of his low grade fever last week, but they haven't. They are just barely poking through. I discussed with him potty training (which he suggests just buying a potty seat and putting it in the bathroom for him to take a look at and decide if/when he wants to sit on it) and we talked about moving him into a bigger bed.
So back to my proud moment I had today. I asked Reese if he wanted to sit on his potty before going to the grocery store. He said yeah and said "off" as for me to take off his shorts and diaper. He sat and tried to get up but I told him if he got up he'd have to put the diaper back on and he wasn't having that. So he sat and the next thing I knew he had peed just a bit in the potty!!!! YAY REESE!!!I don't think I have had a proud moment like that since the day he started walking. Such a huge milestone! Don't get me wrong, I am certainly proud of him everyday but I mean this was/is HUGE! So we went to the store and he got to get a sucker. When we got home we tried it again and he went just a few drops but hey, I'm not going to complain. He thinks it's great and now he gets penguin stickers and he is just as happy as can be. I am in no way trying to force this upon him or trying to get him trained by September...LOL! Just wanted to see what he would do and where we could go with it. Looks like we might go in the right direction, we shall see.
Enjoy the sweet, funny pictures below :) The funny one...I removed because I found it rather inappropriate and would not like it if someone downloaded my innocent baby's picture off here and did something with it...sorry for the boring picture below. LOL!
So onto our next big step...the big boy bed. This blog won't be posted until July when we begin the process. I'm excited for him! Ready to put his big boy bedding on his bed and get his room AND the nursery decorated and ready to go! I guess you could say I'm in a nesting phase and it's driving me nuts because the "nursery" is in the office which still has all sorts of stuff in it including garage sale items that will be sold next weekend (fingers crossed). My little baby Reese is growing up on me too fast! Now...off to enjoy our summer together. Pictures coming soon :)
