Check out Reese's HUGE milestone he has accomplished!
I'll try to condense all that I wrote the other night into a shorter version...Monday night when Reese and I got home he began taking steps all on his own across the den. I was so happy! He's been taking steps but not like this. Then I began calling him and he'd look at me with determination and walk over to me! What an amazing thing to see. Then after all of that fun and excitement he (for the first time) began opening cabinet's and pulling out everything in them, found the DVD tower (it was only a matter of time) and began pulling out DVD's, playing in the garbage can, pushed his high chair around the kitchen, and took more than half of his dinner and began throwing into the floor at dinner time. WOW...needless to say we've begun baby proofing my house more and more. It will never be 100% proof but we do what we can.
Last night Rhett and I went on our 3 yr anniversary date to Folks Folly and to see the Fiddler on the Roof. OMG...the steaks were amazing at dinner & they surprised us with a delicious brownie and ice cream dessert! (we owe part of ability to go there to JT!) We had no idea what the play was going to be about but when we left we thought it was absolutely wonderful!!! We were so tired on the way home...no more late nights on school nights for us. We didn't want to get up this morning!
Let's see...this time last year Rachel and my mom were taking me to the dr to see what we were going to do about my extremely elevated blood pressure. Only option was, was to go over to L&D to induce the next day. I can still remember the walk over from the dr's office to the hospital. Nervous, excited and anxious! They took me into my room and I thought to myself...wow, this is really abotu to happen! It's like a roller coaster ride when you are at the very top of a HUGE hill and there is no getting off!!! I was induced the next day at 7 am, in labor all day and Reese was finally born at 7:30 that night...weighing in at 7 lbs 6 oz and 20 1/2 in long! I think they had my due date wrong (which at first was June 1, then moved to May 27th) A week before he was born they also estimated him weighing a little over 5 lbs. You never really know until they are here!
I can't believe his first birthday is tomorrow! Time really does fly. What an incredible journey this first year has been. We have learned so much about parenting and SO much more about our little son. He is a blessing from God and we look forward to many more birthdays spent with him! Now on to finish planning and getting ready for his birthday party!!
